Why it happens
Hair growth is influenced by genetics, hormones, age, medications, skin type, and the natural growth cycle. Laser works best when the hair has enough pigment for the laser to target.
Before treatment
Avoid tanning and significant sun exposure before treatment.
Do not wax, pluck, thread, or use hair-removal creams unless Apex specifically clears it.
Shave the area as directed before treatment so the laser can target the follicle safely.
Tell the team about medications, recent procedures, skin changes, pregnancy status, or photosensitivity.
Arrive with clean skin and no heavy lotion, deodorant, makeup, or fragrance on the area unless instructed otherwise.
Post-treatment expectations
Mild redness, warmth, or follicle swelling can be normal and usually settles.
Hair may appear to grow for a short time before shedding from treated follicles.
Avoid heat, hot tubs, saunas, aggressive exfoliation, and heavy sweating as directed.
Use sun protection and follow the aftercare plan provided by Apex.
Multiple sessions are usually needed because hair grows in cycles.
